Exposing The Looking Glass

Photography has been a very deep seeded part of my life. I've learned at a young age that every moment is worthwhile. From watching my parents use their cameras, to learning to use my own. I've been enriched by my personal experiences to newer levels. Here, I will share my enlightenment, captured within the tune of my journey. Where, I hope you feel for the mental health journey, more than anywhere else on my site. Also, I'm hoping we connect more, to help you to Discover The Unseen. Enjoy!

I had just received my...

first camera in the mail, and soon I was shooting pictures of everything in my house. Now mind you, this camera was an older DSLR gifted to me from my Father's friend. Hey, free stuff is freedom, as an artistic standpoint. Although, at that moment, it was raining. So, no going outside... until it stopped... Then, I quickly ventured outside to my front yard, and got close to the freshly rained on greenery! This photo was taken on my first day ever shooting my own camera. The scent of fresh rainfall, my barefooted footsteps on the wet grass, and gripping my camera for a focused shot, was spectacular.

Wild World

It was a cloudy day...

after a few weeks of having my camera. I had no idea where to go. I hadn't really research techniques of photography. I only remembered what I learned in high school. All I knew, was to be outside with my camera. After taking a few test shots in my backyard, I start walking up my driveway, and I see this crow sitting on the tree branch! "Finally, a decent shot!", I think, as I quickly zoom in, and focus to take the photograph. Although this tree has since been cut down, this shot has taught me patience. Because, the crow had never flinched at my camera, and it was wonderful hearing its squawking at me... after happy with the shot, of course.

Patience Black And White

My Mom and I were...

driving on a long stretch of highway. We were on our way back home from a day trip in the Maryland mountains. We hadn't seen any sign of life for 30 minutes. That is, until we find an old gas station, and car repair shop in front of acres of farmland. Sitting just far enough off to the side of the property, we see this beauty! Mom, having a photographer mindset, turned around at the next u-turn for me to jump out of the car and snap a few shots! Hearing the modern cars flying by at steadfast speeds, started to echo to me. Making me appreciate the honor this ol' truck has earned through its generational gift to the public... years retired, and not.

Keep On Truckin'

Treasured Love

Oh, sweet time-worn Love,

appear as a profound treasure.

One, better than seaside gifts, found above

the sacred shoreline measure.

Where, perfection in finding, The,

won’t slip past my careful comb.

As, I’m bolder plucking patiently,

in practice of charm, and loath.

Yet, when passing over the many, then few,

I’ll still fear the waves’ pounding hits.

As, they reveal the broken, and bruised.

Oh, to clear past their rallying grips.

I await you: by bravery holding brash;

by times of shifting tides carrying curl.

To endure my sorrow’s complete crash

settled by a swirl.

For, when our love is held to pride, tested

in heart, and without cheat.

We’ll cherish the time we bested.

To, finally, come together and meet.
